Five-Year Follow-Up of the Medicine, Angioplasty, or Surgery Study (MASS II) A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial of 3 Therapeutic Strategies for Multivessel Coronary Artery Disease
Whady Hueb,Neuza Lopes,Bernard J. Gersh,Paulo R. Soares,Luiz Antônio Machado,Fabio Biscegli Jatene,Sérgio Almeida de Oliveira,José Antonio Franchini Ramires +7 more
TL;DR: CABG was superior to MT in terms of the primary end points, reaching a significant 44% reduction at the 5-year follow-up of patients with stable multivessel coronary artery disease, and was associated with an incidence of long-term events and rate of additional revascularization similar to those for PCI.
Journal ArticleDOI
V Diretriz Brasileira de Dislipidemias e Prevenção da Aterosclerose

TL;DR: In 2013, a V Diretriz Brasileira de Dislipidemias e Prevencao de Aterosclerose (DBSA) was published as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
The medicine, angioplasty, or surgery study (MASS-II): a randomized, controlled clinical trial of three therapeutic strategies for multivessel coronary artery disease: One-year results
Whady Hueb,Paulo R. Soares,Bernard J. Gersh,Luiz Antonio Machado César,Protásio Lemos da Luz,Luiz Boro Puig,Eulógio M Martinez,Sérgio Almeida de Oliveira,José Antonio Franchini Ramires +8 more
TL;DR: Medical therapy for multivessel CAD was associated with a lower incidence of short-term events and a reduced need for additional revascularization, compared with PCI, and CABG was superior to MT for eliminating anginal symptoms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonsurgical transthoracic epicardial catheter ablation to treat recurrent ventricular tachycardia occurring late after myocardial infarction.
Eduardo Sosa,Mauricio Scanavacca,Andre d'Avila,Flávio Oliveira,José Antonio Franchini Ramires +4 more
TL;DR: Postinfarction pericardial adherence does not preclude epicardial mapping and ablation to control VT related to an epicardials circuit in postinferior wall myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment decision in asymptomatic aortic valve stenosis: role of exercise testing
TL;DR: Exercise testing is safe and is of prognostic value in asymptomatic patients with aortic stenosis and the occurrence of end point events for the variables studied.
