CO oxidation over gold supported on Cs, Li and Ti-doped cryptomelane materials
Sónia A. C. Carabineiro,V.P. Santos,M. Fernando R. Pereira,José J.M. Órfão,José L. Figueiredo +4 more
TL;DR: The observed trends are related to the effect of gold on samples reducibility and to the gold particle size, since the most active cryptomelane catalysts are those with higher lattice oxygen donating ability for the oxidation of the CO molecule.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oscillations in the oxidation of MIBK over a Pt/HFAU catalyst: role of coke combustion
TL;DR: In this paper, the catalytic oxidation of methyl-isobutyl-ketone (MIBK) in low concentration (1340 ppm) was investigated over a Pt/HFAU catalyst, and two main reactions were observed: total oxidation into CO2 and the formation of non-desorbed compounds (coke).
Journal ArticleDOI
Sorption of copper, nickel and cadmium on bone char
TL;DR: In this article, the Freundlich and Langmuir models were applied to the adsorption isotherms of bone char and the maximum loading capacities showed the following affinity order: Cu2+ (1.093 mmol g−1 at pH ≥ 0.
Journal ArticleDOI
Simultaneous catalytic conversion of cellulose and corncob xylan under temperature programming for enhanced sorbitol and xylitol production.
TL;DR: The combination of a simultaneous conversion of cellulose and xylan with a two-step temperature approach, which consists in the variation of the reaction temperature from 170 to 205°C after 2h, showed to be a good strategy for maximizing the production of sorbitol and xylitol directly from mixture of cellulOSE and x Dylan.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening of catalysts and reaction conditions for the direct conversion of corncob xylan to xylitol
TL;DR: In this article, different supported metal catalysts were tested for the one-pot transformation of corncob xylan to xylitol, with a yield close to 80% after 2 h of reaction using Ru supported on carbon nanotubes (CNT, 0.4 wt% metal loading).
