Journal ArticleDOI

The stress response of the gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata L.) to air exposure and confinement

TL;DR: The data provide evidence that a stressor-specific activation of the BSC and BPI axes may occur in Sparus aurata, and conclude that air exposure mainly activates the brain-sympathetic-chromaffin cell (BSC) axis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rearing of Octopus vulgaris paralarvae: Present status, bottlenecks and trends

TL;DR: Rearing techniques for the O. vulgaris paralarvae used by the different research participant teams are described, with regard to tank systems, feeding environment, and diets (Artemia, crustacean zoeae, sandeel flakes, copepods, etc.).
Journal ArticleDOI

Meteorological and oceanographic factors influencing Engraulis encrasicolus early life stages and catches in the Gulf of Cádiz

TL;DR: In this paper, meteorological and oceanographic factors that have clear influence on the distribution of Engraulis encrasicolus eggs and larvae in shelf waters of the northeastern sector of the Gulf of Cadiz has been analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Procalcitonin and C-reactive protein as early markers of anastomotic leak after laparoscopic colorectal surgery within an enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) program.

TL;DR: CRP and PCT are relevant markers for detecting postoperative AL after laparoscopic colorectal surgery and can ensure an early discharge with a low probability of AL when an ERAS program is performed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial and temporal changes of coastal demersal assemblages in the Gulf of Cadiz (SW Spain) in relation to environmental conditions

TL;DR: In this article, the spatial and temporal differences in demersal structure were analysed through different multivariate routines from PRIMER including between-matrix correlation analysis (RELATE), analysis of similarities (ANOSIM), species contributions to similarity/dissimilarity (SIMPER), non-metric multidimensional scaling (MDS) and group-average cluster analysis.
