Serological Differentiation of Experimentally Induced Candida dubliniensis and Candida albicans Infections
María Dolores Moragues,Miren Josu Omaetxebarria,Natalia Elguezabal,Joseba Bikandi,Guillermo Quindós,David C. Coleman,José Pontón +6 more
TL;DR: Using a rabbit model of systemic infection, it is shown that it is possible to differentiate infections caused by Candida dubliniensis and other Candida species by detecting the antibody response mounted by the infected animals, and suggests that detection of C. dublinienis-specific antibodies is useful in the diagnosis of invasive candidiasis caused by this yeast.
Journal ArticleDOI
Characterization of a Monoclonal Antibody Directed against Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium and Serovar [4,5,12:i:-]
Aitor Rementeria,Ana Belén Vivanco,Andoni Ramírez,Fernando L. Hernando,Joseba Bikandi,Silvia Herrera-León,A. Echeita,Javier Garaizar +7 more
TL;DR: MAb 23D4 can be useful for detection and diagnostic purposes of S. enterica serovar Typhimurium and serovAR [4,5,12:i:−] and could be also helpful for epitope characterization of flagellum-associated antigens.
Journal Article
In silico simulation of fingerprinting techniques based on double endonuclease digestion of genomic DNA.
TL;DR: An online generic tool for simulation of fingerprinting techniques based on the double endonuclease digestion of DNA, which allows modelling and modifications of already existing techniques, as well as new theoretical approaches not yet tried in the lab.

Journal ArticleDOI
Virulotyping of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi isolates from Pakistan: Absence of complete SPI-10 in Vi negative isolates.
Sadia Liaquat,Sadia Liaquat,Yasra Sarwar,Aamir Ali,Abdul Haque,Muhammad Farooq,Ilargi Martinez-Ballesteros,Lorena Laorden,Javier Garaizar,Joseba Bikandi +9 more
TL;DR: The virulence potential and genetic relatedness of 35 S. Typhi isolates collected from 2004 to 2013 was determined by identification of SPI and non-SPI virulence factors through a combination of techniques including virulotyping, Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), and Variable Number of Tandem Repeats (VNTR) profiling.
