Assessment of a Salt Reduction Intervention on Adult Population Salt Intake in Fiji
Arti Pillay,Kathy Trieu,Joseph Alvin Santos,Joseph Alvin Santos,Arleen Sukhu,Jimaima Schultz,Jillian Wate,Colin Bell,Marj Moodie,Wendy Snowdon,Gary Ma,Kris Rogers,Jacqui Webster,Jacqui Webster +13 more
TL;DR: The population salt intake in Fiji, at 10.3 g/day, is still twice the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommended maximum intake and assessed iodine intake levels in women of child-bearing age and found that they were within recommended guidelines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Estimating population salt intake in India using spot urine samples.
Kristina S. Petersen,Claire Johnson,Claire Johnson,Sailesh Mohan,Kris Rogers,Roopa Shivashankar,Sudhir Raj Thout,Priti Gupta,Feng J. He,Graham A. MacGregor,Jacqui Webster,Jacqui Webster,Joseph Alvin Santos,Joseph Alvin Santos,Anand Krishnan,Pallab K. Maulik,Pallab K. Maulik,K. Srinath Reddy,Ruby Gupta,Dorairaj Prabhakaran,Bruce Neal +20 more
TL;DR: In urban and rural areas in North and South India, most spot urine-based equations provided reasonable estimates of mean population salt intake, according to a cross-sectional survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of a nationwide strategy to reduce salt intake in Samoa
Kathy Trieu,Merina Ieremia,Joseph Alvin Santos,Joseph Alvin Santos,Bruce Neal,Bruce Neal,Bruce Neal,Mark Woodward,Marjory Moodie,Colin Bell,Wendy Snowdon,Taiaopo Faumuina,Jacqui Webster,Jacqui Webster +13 more

Journal ArticleDOI
Process Evaluation and Costing of a Multifaceted Population-Wide Intervention to Reduce Salt Consumption in Fiji.
Jacqui Webster,Arti Pillay,Arleen Suku,Paayal Gohil,Joseph Alvin Santos,Joseph Alvin Santos,Jimaima Schultz,Jillian Wate,Kathy Trieu,Kathy Trieu,Silvia F. Hope,Wendy Snowdon,Marj Moodie,Stephen Jan,Colin Bell +14 more
TL;DR: The process evaluation and costing of a national salt reduction intervention in Fiji showed a 1.4 g/day drop in salt intake, but this was not statistically significant and lessons from this process evaluation will be used to inform future strategies in the Pacific Islands and globally.
