TL;DR: In this article, the tensile stress concentrations at geometric discontinuities in composites by altering the neighboring structural compliance and the possible influence on strength were investigated, and the results showed that the neighboring compliance can influence tensile strength.

A study on grid-stiffened multi-functional composite structures with radiation spot shielding
TL;DR: In this article, a grid-stiffened composite panel with excellent bending stiffness and lightweight characteristics was used for integrating multiple electronic circuitries into structure with ease, and a spot shielding technique was also proposed to enhance the radiation shielding at the selective region sensitive to radiation, and the lightweight radiation spot shielding plate was fabricated with multi-layered laminate of CFRP and tungsten foil.

Thermal failure of the LM117 regulator under harsh space thermal environments
TL;DR: In this paper, a thermal failure of a transponder unit in the Korea LEO (Low-Earth Orbit) Earth Observation satellite was discussed, where the thermal failure occurred in an LM117 regulator used as a microcircuit of the transPonder unit during a space thermal environment test.
