Journal ArticleDOI

4-Locus high-resolution HLA allele and haplotype frequencies in Costa Ricans from African-Caribbean descent.

TL;DR: A total of 102 Costa Ricans of African-Caribbean descent were genotyped at high-resolution for the human leukocyte antigen loci HLA-A, -B, -C, and -DRB1 using sequence-based typing methods, finding no deviation from Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium at any of the loci studied.
Book ChapterDOI

ACE I/D (Rs1799752), MTHFR C677T (Rs1801133), and CCR5 D32 (Rs333) Genes and their Association with Hypertension and Diabetic Nephropathy in Urban Areas of Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Mexico

TL;DR: It is important to know the role of ACE and CCR5 molecular markers and their possible association with the development of microvascular complications in the authors' populations, as well as to investigate the prevalence in thrombotic markers that lead to hypercoagulability and its association with hypertension and diabetic nephropathy.
Journal ArticleDOI

4-Locus high-resolution HLA allele and haplotype frequencies in Costa Ricans from Guanacaste.

TL;DR: A total of 110 Costa Rican Mestizos from the province of Guanacaste were genotyped at high-resolution for the human leukocyte antigen loci HLA-A, -B, -C, and -DRB1 using sequence-based typing methods, and the respective allele and extended haplotype frequencies, as well as Hardy-Weinberg proportions were calculated.
