Journal ArticleDOI

Development of interdigital transducer sensors for non-destructive characterization of thin films using high frequency Rayleigh waves.

TL;DR: The use of surface acoustic wave interdigital transducers (IDT) to generate surface waves as well as the development of a measuring device enabling an accurate estimation of the phase velocity to be obtained are used, which is essential in order to characterize such thin layers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of a superficial field of residual stress on the propagation of surface waves—Applied to the estimation of the depth of the superficial stressed zone

TL;DR: In this article, the dispersion of surface waves caused by the presence of a micrometric field of residual stress on the surface of an amorphous medium was studied. And the thicknesses of the stressed cortical zones were estimated with good accuracy using an inverse method.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of micrometric and localised residual stresses on amorphous materials using dispersion of surface acoustic waves

TL;DR: In this paper, the dispersion of surface ultrasonic waves caused by the presence of residual surface stresses was studied and the thickness and the level of the stressed surface zones were estimated using an inverse method.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

High frequency SAW-IDT MEMS sensors for ultrasonic characterization of thin films deposited on substrates

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used SAW-IDT MEMS sensor to generate HF surface waves between 5 and 50MHz to characterize thin films on substrate-type structures, which can be used to improve the durability of structures, including their resistance to wear and fatigue.

Développement de capteurs interdigités sur substrat piézoélectrique de type PZT pour la génération des ondes de surface en haute fréquence

TL;DR: In this paper, Duquennoy et al. presented the Acoustics 2012 Nantes Conference 23-27 April 2012, Nantes, France and presented an acoustic model for the Nantes conference.
