Crashworthiness of aluminum/CFRP square hollow section beam under axial impact loading for crash box application

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the crashworthiness characteristics and axial collapse with damage propagation behavior of an aluminum/CFRP hybrid square hollow section beam under dynamic axial crushing load for crash box application.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tensile behavior of aluminum/carbon fiber reinforced polymer hybrid composites at intermediate strain rates

TL;DR: In this article, the tensile properties of hybrid composites with different carbon fiber reinforced polymer stacking sequences were measured at strain rates between 0.001/s and 100/s.
Journal ArticleDOI

Roof Structure Design and Evaluation for Improvement of Roof Strength of Three-Wheel Vehicles

TL;DR: In this article, the roof structure for TWV consists of existing part of FWV and a new part called Cross-bar reinforcement, and simulations are carried out for both static and dynamic cases, where rate-dependency of a material needs to be considered for accurate results of FE analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Crash Performance of Strength Gradient Tube Induced by Selective Laser Patterning

TL;DR: In this article , the performance of a 22 MnB5 tube after local heat treatment according to a patterning shape under dynamic crash test conditions was investigated, and the helical pattern can optimize different pitch sizes according to the thickness and diameter of the cylindrical tube, and it has the highest energy absorption rate with 83.0% in dynamic conditions.
