Journal ArticleDOI

Liquid Structure of Acetonitrile−Water Mixtures by X-ray Diffraction and Infrared Spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the structure of acetonitrile−water mixtures has been investigated by X-ray diffraction with an imaging plate detector and IR spectroscopy over a wide range of acetitrile mole fractions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical Properties of Water-Miscible Solvents Separated by Salting-out and Their Application to Solvent Extraction

TL;DR: The phase separation of 14 water-miscible polar solvents by salting-out using sodium chloride (4mol dm-3) was investigated in this article, where the phase separation properties of the separated organic solvent were determined by measuring ET(30)(=1.196×105/λ (kJmol 1)) and DII.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ion-Pair Extraction of Metalloporphyrins into Acetonitrile for Determination of Copper(II).

TL;DR: A new and useful method was developed for the determination of a subnanogram amount of copper(II) in natural water samples using H(2)tmpyp(4+) with a molar absorptivity of 3.1 × 10(5) mol(3) cm(-)(1) at a precision of 1.3% (RSD).
Journal ArticleDOI

Large-Angle X-ray Scattering and Small-Angle Neutron Scattering Study on Phase Separation of Acetonitrile−Water Mixtures by Addition of NaCl

TL;DR: In this article, a phase diagram of acetonitrile−water−NaCl mixtures at 298 K has been shown that phase separation occurs over a wide range of acetitrile mole fraction (xAN) of ∼0.1 < xAN ≤ ∼ 0.7, where the microheterogeneity of the mixtures occurs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selective extraction of thallium(III) in the presence of gallium(III), indium(III), bismuth(III) and antimony(III) by salting-out of an aqueous mixture of 2-propanol

TL;DR: In this article, a 2-propanol/water mixture was used to extract thallium(III) from gallium, indium, bismuth and antimony in aqueous solution.
