Where the pipeline accelerator is coupled to a processor as part of a peer-vector machine, the memory facilitates the transfer of data—whether unidirectional or bidirectional—between the hardwired-pipeline circuit(s) and an application that the processor executes.

Mutual authentication is performed by using first and second authentication key data between a first data processing device and a second data processing device. When the mutual authentication is succeeded, the first data processing device uses encryption key data for encrypting predetermined data and outputs the data to the second data processing device. SOLUTION: This system which administers vehicles traveling on the toll road 1 is equipped with a vehicle-side communication device mounted on a vehicle and gate-side communication devices provided for in gates installed at places for entry into and exiting from the toll road 1. Each gate is equipped with a communication gate 30A and a check gate 30B. Through a communication between both the communication devices, the toll, etc., of each vehicle can be calculated without using a pass ticket or depending upon human intervention. Further, if a communication device gates out of order, the check gate 30B can inhibit such a vehicle from entering the toll road.

A classification determiner 213 determines whether the object whose three-dimensional shape has been measured by the three-dimensional shape measuring device is a vehicle based on the determination results of the three-dimensional shape verifier 212. SOLUTION: The entrance information writing system is provided with; a wireless communication starting button 4 which is provided at the entrance of a tollgate in which an ETC system 8 is installed, and used to start wireless communication with an on-vehicle device 3 mounted on a vehicle 2; a vehicle type information inputting button 5 for inputting vehicle type information for identifying the type of the vehicle 2; and an antenna 7 which starts wireless communication with the on-vehicle 3 by pressing down the wireless communication starting button 4 and writes the vehicle type information inputted from the vehicle-kind information inputting button 5 and the entrance information for identifying the entrance to an IC card 2 mounted on the on-vehicle device 3. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the communication time by efficiently ciphering data at communication equipment for vehicle for exchanging ciphered data with on-road equipment. SOLUTION: In this system in which communication equipment 32, 42... are provided at guntries 30 and 40 installed on a vehicle traveling road, communication using the ciphered data is performed with on-vehicle equipment 10 through the communication equipment 32, 42... and a passage fee is automatically collected from an IC card 2, an on-vehicle equipment 10 ciphers and deciphers the communication data before entering the guntries 30 and 40 and after passage. Besides, the ciphered data are also used for writing data into the IC card 2 but a high-speed processable algorithm different from the IC card 2 is used for ciphering the communication data. As a result, since it is enough to cipher/decipher the data only on the side of on-road equipment 20 at the time of communication and this operation can be performed at a high speed, the communication time can be shortened and data communication can exactly be executed within limited time during traveling.

Communication equipment for vehicle and traveling vehicle monitoring system

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely collect toll without temporarily stooping a vehicle loading on-vehicle equipment at an entrance or exit toll gate. SOLUTION: On an entrance toll gate lane 1, a car type discriminator 4 (existent), entrance side number reader 10, 1st antenna 14, detector 16, ticket issuing device 19 (existent), display device 20, vehicle detector 21, 2nd antenna 30 and start detector 25 (existent) are provided successively from the side of entrance. The 1st antenna 14 performs the writing processing of entrance toll gate information by communicating with the on-vehicle equipment on the approaching vehicle. When the communication is made successful, pass is displayed on the display device 20 but when it is failed, stop is displayed on the display device 20 and a pass ticket is issued by the ticket issuing device 19. The 2nd antenna 30 performs the writing processing of car type information and registered number information detected by the car type discriminator 4 and the number reader 10 to the on-vehicle equipment. The existent facilities can be utilized as they are.
