Journal ArticleDOI

Hg(II)-mediated intramolecular cyclization reaction in aqueous media and its application as Hg(II) selective indicator.

TL;DR: The Hg(II)-specific intramolecular cyclization reaction of ethynyl phenols was carried out for the first time in semiaqueous media at ambient temperature and afforded the chromogenic HG(II) indicator 7, which displays a color change from blue to pale yellow in the presence of Hg (II).
Journal ArticleDOI

Work function engineering of graphene oxide via covalent functionalization for organic field-effect transistors

TL;DR: In this article, a method to produce work-function-tuned graphene nanosheets based on the nucleophilic substitution of the epoxy groups on graphene oxide is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

3D Metal–Organic Framework Based on a Lower-Rim Acid-Functionalized Calix[4]arene: Crystal-to-Crystal Transformation upon Lattice Solvent Removal

TL;DR: In this paper, a 3D metal-organic framework (calixMOF) was obtained by the solvothermal reaction between a lower-rim acid-functionalized calix[4]arene (H4L) and Pb(NO3)2 in N,N-dimethylformamide; 1 exhibited ths topology, in which PbII atoms accommodated inside the calixarene unit adopted hemidirected coordination geometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluoride indicator that functions in mixed aqueous media: hydrogen bonding effects

TL;DR: A urea-based fluoride anion indicator that functions in mixed aqueous media is reported, and addition of fluoride anions produces an easy-to-visualize colorimetric response in the case of 3, but not 1 or 2 as the result of anion-induced Si–O bond cleavage.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conformationally Locked Tolans, β-Sheet Structures, and Photophysical Properties.

TL;DR: Conformationally locked tetrasubstituted tolans were synthesized by introducing a tether on the tolan to demonstrate the utilities of these motifs, and a β-hairpin structure was synthesized and its additional stabilizing effects were evaluated.
