Corrosion properties of Fe-Cr-Nb-B amorphous alloys and coatings

TL;DR: In this article, the corrosion properties of the Fe 60 Cr 8 Nb 8 B 24 (at.%) alloy produced using pure and commercial materials in the following conditions: amorphous ribbons, partially crystallized ribbons and coatings produced by spray deposition and powder flame spraying process.
Journal ArticleDOI

Wear and corrosion of niobium carbide coated AISI 52100 bearing steel

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of Niobium carbide coating on the wear and corrosion resistance of the AISI 52100 bearing steels was addressed, and a homogeneous layer composed solely by the cubic NiO carbide (NbC) was produced.
Journal ArticleDOI

On dispersion hardening of microalloyed hot strip steels by carbonitride precipitation in austenite

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors try to re-examine the arguments which have been given previously insupport of the exclusive role of ferrite-nucleated particles for precipitation strengthening, and to lookfor theoretical and experimental evidence which could support the idea of a significant contribution from carbonitride particles nucleated in austenite to the final strength of microalloyed hot strip steels.
Journal ArticleDOI

On coherent carbonitride precipitation in commercial microalloyed steels

TL;DR: In this article, fine vanadium carbonitride particles nucleated during interphase precipitation were investigated in the transmission electron microscope under controlled conditions of diffraction contrast, and it was concluded that the vanadium particles had precipitated in the form of incoherent particles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interaction between recrystallization and strain-induced precipitation in a high Nb- and N-bearing austenitic stainless steel: Influence of the interpass time

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of the interpass time on the interaction between recrystallization and strain-induced precipitation occurring during multiple passes' deformations under continuous cooling conditions in a high niobium and nitrogen-bearing austenitic stainless steel (ISO 5832-9).
