The paper also seeks to examine, with reference to The Analects or Lun Yu, how leader can tap several sources of soft power and apply the various ways of soft power; and in doing so, persuade or appeal to their peoples. Confucius once said, ‘Make it your guiding principle to do your best for others and to be trustworthy in what you say.’ (The Analects, IX, verse 25). Interestingly, the leader’s virtues, example, trustworthiness and other Confucian applications and ways of using soft power are analyzed.

Abstract: In this paper, the academic-practitioner seeks to show and make obvious the various leadership ways and key lessons derived from the late Bruce Lee’s martial arts form through examination and presumption of the various quotes from Bruce Lee’s book, Tao of Jeet Kune Do and various literature sources. Also of interest for anyone interested in the founder of the Jeet Kune Do martial arts, Bruce Lee in popular culture and as an object of academic study, several leadership lessons were also gleaned from interviews with several fans of the iconic Chinese Kung-Fu martial artist. Among other things, these key leadership ways assessed include: learning, being selfless, exuding soft power, standing tall with high integrity, and adapting as well as being flexible and agile.

Abstract: This paper is an analysis of a survey of the existing tourism facilities and potential sites in the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, particularly noting existing obstacles and challenges. Graduate and undergraduate business students indicated in in-depth interviews that tourism is under or not developed sufficient to sustain the population. The authors postulate how Brunei can access its natural environment to develop a competitive advantage using ecotourism thus conserving its natural heritage as it economically advances. The authors also examine Brunei’s key strengths or what differentiates Brunei from other countries in cultivating tourism. Finally, the authors recommend policy recommendations to address the growth of the tourism industry using ecotourism to sustainably grow this fledgling industry.
