Nuclear DNA Amounts in Roses

TL;DR: In the Pimpinellifoliae, DNA amounts of tetraploids were disproportionately larger than those of diploids which suggests that they originated as hybrids with species of sections with larger DNA amounts.
Journal ArticleDOI

Resistance of roses to pathotypes of Diplocarpon rosae

TL;DR: In this paper, the resistance of 16 species and six cultivars of Rosa to different isolates of Diplocarpon rosae was assessed using surface-sterilised leaf discs.
Book ChapterDOI

Somatic embryogenesis in Rosa spp.

TL;DR: The genus Rosa includes over 100 species, distributed throughout the temperate and subtropical regions of the Northern Hemisphere, which exhibits a typical polyploid series.
Book ChapterDOI

Regeneration of Plants from Protoplasts of Rosa Species (Roses)

TL;DR: The genus Rosa includes more than 100 species which are distributed naturally in the Northern Hemisphere only and most modern cultivated roses fall into two classes: the Hybrid Teas and the Floribundas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell lines and plants obtained after protoplast fusions of Rosa + Rosa , Rosa + Prunus and Rosa + Rubus

TL;DR: RAPD analysis of 41 fusion-derived cell lines showed that after protoplast fusion, the heterokaryons did not develop into cell lines with stable hybrid nuclei, and plants regenerated from cell lines derived from Rosa + Prunus and Rosa + Rubus fusions contained DNA markers of only Rosa.
