Evaluation of Chemical Constituents and Important Mechanism of Pharmacological Biology in Dendrobium Plants
TL;DR: The history, chemistry, and pharmacology of different Dendrobium species are reviewed on the basis of the latest academic literatures found in Google Scholar, PubMed, Sciencedirect, Scopus, and SID.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dendrobine targeting JNK stress signaling to sensitize chemotoxicity of cisplatin against non-small cell lung cancer cells in vitro and in vivo.
Tian-He Song,Xiao-Xin Chen,Calvin Kai-Fai Lee,Stephen Cho Wing Sze,Yibin Feng,Zhijun Yang,Hai-Yong Chen,Sheng-Tao Li,Li-Yan Zhang,Gang Wei,Jun Shi,Kai Xu,Tzi Bun Ng,Ling-Ling Zhu,Kalin Yanbo Zhang +14 more
TL;DR: Combination treatment of dendrobine with cisplatin showed enhanced cytotoxicity through stimulation of JNK/p38 stress signaling pathways and, consequently, the induction of apoptosis involving pro-apoptotic proteins Bax and Bim, suggesting that the combination strategy deserves further investigation for human lung cancer treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ellagitannins from Pomegranate Ameliorates 5-Fluorouracil-Induced Intestinal Mucositis in Rats while Enhancing Its Chemotoxicity against HT-29 Colorectal Cancer Cells through Intrinsic Apoptosis Induction.
Xiao-Xin Chen,Kargo Kar Ho Lam,Yibin Feng,Kai Xu,Stephen Cho Wing Sze,Sydney C.W. Tang,George Pak-Hen Leung,Calvin Kai-Fai Lee,Jun Shi,Zhijun Yang,Sheng-Tao Li,Zhang-Jin Zhang,Kalin Yanbo Zhang +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that dietary ellagitannins from pomegranate could alleviate intestinal mucositis in rats induced by 5-FU while enhancing its toxicity against HT-29 cells through potentiation of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest.
