Journal ArticleDOI

Phytase and alkaline phosphatase activities in intestinal mucosae of rat, chicken, calf, and man

TL;DR: Differences in substrate-activity relationships, and inhibition by l -phenylalanine and NaF provided additional support for the hydrolysis of phytate as an activity distinct from that promoting hydroleysis of p -nitrophenyl or 3-glycerophosphates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Relation of zinc metalloenzyme activities to zinc concentrations in tissues

TL;DR: Activity of alcohol dehydrogenase in liver and of alkaline phosphatase in the intestinal mucosa were compared with Zn2+ concentrations in these tissues and the estimated contributions were demonstrated, but it is too small to explain the relationship observed.
