Methods and systems for integrating process perspectives and abstraction levels into business process modeling are described. In one example embodiment, modeling business processes for an enterprise can include selecting a segmented view of an enterprise meta-model. The segmented view is associated with a business process to be modeled. The enterprise meta-model is a machine-readable representation of business rules and policies for the enterprise. A business process model is created using a set of visual modeling tools, which are limited by the segmented view. A business policy having some relevance to the process being modeled can be selected for annotation to the business process. Once completed, the business process model is transformed into a machine-readable representation and stored in a repository.

Then, a new product availability estimate for the product is determined based on the rate sales events for the product. One or more transformation initiatives are discovered, for instance, using daisy chain analysis technique, for transforming the identified one or more components to at least meet the industry practice values. Benefits associated with the one or more transformation initiatives may be also determined using a calculator module. The one or more components may be transformed by implementing the one or more transformation initiatives.

Transformation of data centers to manage pollution

The interplay between labor arbitrage and consistent service delivery in IT outsourcing continues to drive business process standardization. New emerging standards, like ITIL, is defining an industry-wide taxonomy for IT service management. These standards are often at a high level and require substantial investment from service providers to define and implement these standards across the various low-level processes they offer. This paper presents a process management system, called Cyano, that uses social networks and recommendation to greatly increase the effectiveness of process capture and knowledge maintenance. We particularly focus on Cyano's social recommendation engine, called SCOOP, which utilizes the intrinsic graph property of process content for recommendation. More specifically, SCOOP maintains a user-process interaction graph Gand computes the user-to-user similarity scores using the random walk with restart on G. Finally, we evaluate SCOOP in the context of a large-scale deployment of Cyano, with thousands of processes and users.

SCOOP: Automated Social Recommendation in Enterprise Process Management

A computer implemented method and a computer system implementing the method of a business process transformation wizard leads a business analyst through a series of steps to invoke business transformation patterns, in order to analyze the results of those processes. The wizard first prompts the business analyst to specify business objectives of process transformation. Required parameters are added to the business process model guided by the business process transformation wizard until the business process model is completed. Once the model is completed, the wizard prompts the business analyst to select transformation techniques or patterns for optimizing process parameters and, for each selected transformation pattern, optimizes process parameters using a selected optimization technique. The wizard also prompts the business analyst to select transformation patterns for optimizing topology of the business process and, for each selected transformation pattern, optimizes topology for the business process using a selected optimization technique.

Method and apparatus for business process transformation wizard

In spite of many advances in business process modeling and simulation technologies, their adoption by the business analyst community has been primarily limited to specialists. We propose a business process transformation wizard as a tool to bridge this gap. This enables users to easily analyze their performance using quantitative technologies by using a business process transformation patterns library to explore different transformation options and by showing the minimum and most commonly required information that can drive transformation initiatives.

We propose a Business Process Transformation Wizard as a capability to bridge this gap. This enables analysts to explore different business process transformation options using Business Process Transformation patterns and analyze their performance using quantitative technologies. In this paper, we explain the approach encapsulated in the BPT Wizard and illustrate it with an example.
