Blautia genus associated with visceral fat accumulation in adults 20–76 years of age
Naoki Ozato,Naoki Ozato,Shinichiro Saito,Tohru Yamaguchi,Mitsuhiro Katashima,Mitsuhiro Katashima,Itoyo Tokuda,Kaori Sawada,Yoshihisa Katsuragi,Yoshihisa Katsuragi,Masanori Kakuta,Seiya Imoto,Kazushige Ihara,Shigeyuki Nakaji +13 more
TL;DR: Investigating the relationship of both visceral fat and BMI with the gut microbiota stratified by sex in a population-based cross-sectional study of Japanese men and women found that Blautia was the only gut microbe significantly and inversely associated with VFA, regardless of sex.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship between self-reported sleep quality and metabolic syndrome in general population
Noriyuki Okubo,Masashi Matsuzaka,Ippei Takahashi,Kaori Sawada,Satoshi Sato,Naoki Akimoto,Takashi Umeda,Shigeyuki Nakaji +7 more
TL;DR: Global PSQI score and its components (especially, sleep latency and sleep disturbance) were associated with metabolic syndrome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Net positive charge of HIV-1 CRF01_AE V3 sequence regulates viral sensitivity to humoral immunity.
Satoshi Naganawa,Satoshi Naganawa,Masaru Yokoyama,Teiichiro Shiino,Takeyuki Suzuki,Yoshiaki Ishigatsubo,Atsuhisa Ueda,Akira Shirai,Mitsuhiro Takeno,Satoshi Hayakawa,Shigehiro Sato,Osamu Tochikubo,Shingo Kiyoura,Kaori Sawada,Takashi Ikegami,Tadahito Kanda,Katsuhiko Kitamura,Hironori Sato +17 more
TL;DR: Data suggest a key role of the V3's net positive charge in the immunological escape and coreceptor tropism evolution of HIV-1 CRF01_AE in vivo, which has molecular implications for the adaptive evolution and vaccine design of HIV -1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association Between Pituitary-Adrenal Axis Dominance Over the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System and Hypertension
Makoto Daimon,Aya Kamba,Hiroshi Murakami,Kazuhisa Takahashi,Hideyuki Otaka,Koushi Makita,Miyuki Yanagimachi,Ken Terui,Kazunori Kageyama,Takeshi Nigawara,Kaori Sawada,Ippei Takahashi,Shigeyuki Nakaji +12 more
TL;DR: The HPA axis dominance over the RAAS is significantly associated with hypertension in a Japanese population and remained significant even after the adjustment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serum hyaluronan levels increase with the total number of osteoarthritic joints and are strongly associated with the presence of knee and finger osteoarthritis
Eiji Sasaki,Eiichi Tsuda,Yuji Yamamoto,Koei Iwasaki,Ryo Inoue,Ippei Takahashi,Kaori Sawada,Hiroshi Fujita,Takashi Umeda,Shigeyuki Nakaji,Yasuyuki Ishibashi +10 more
TL;DR: Although this biomarker reflects a systemic condition, higher serum HA levels were associated with total number of OA joints, and knee and finger OA were key joints related to increased serumHA levels.
