Abstract: A Japanese manufacturer of electronic goods is planning to construct a new, state-of-the-art factory to manufacture large scale integrated circuits. A team of company managers must decide on the appropriate location for the factory taking many different criteria into account. This paper reports on the decision process that the project team employed to model the site selection problem.
