Journal ArticleDOI

Aerobic deammonification: a new experience in the treatment of wastewaters

TL;DR: The leachate treatment plant of the landfill in Mechernich including biological pretreatment, reverse osmosis and evaporation and drying of the concentrate has been in operation since the beginning of 1994 as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single stage biological nitrogen removal by nitritation and anaerobic ammonium oxidation in biofilm systems.

TL;DR: In batch tests with the biofilm covered carriers, it was possible for the first time to examine the nitrogen conversion at the intact biofilm and to establish the deammonification processes in a continuous flow moving-bed pilot plant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydraulic fracturing wastewater in Germany: composition, treatment, concerns

TL;DR: In this paper, water volumes and water quality data are considered for investigating flowback at three selected drilling sites in Germany, and high salinity concentrations were used as indicator for estimating the percentage of hydraulic fracturing fluid and formation water in flowback.
Journal ArticleDOI

The valuation of malnutrition in the mono-digestion of maize silage by anaerobic batch tests.

TL;DR: Investigation of the influence of substrate and trace elements on anaerobic digestion in detail finds biogas production was found to be 35% for maize silage and up to 70% higher for acetate with trace element dosage than in the reference reactor.
