Journal ArticleDOI
A colorimetric RT-LAMP assay and LAMP-sequencing for detecting SARS-CoV-2 RNA in clinical samples.
Viet Loan Dao Thi,Konrad Herbst,Kathleen Boerner,Matthias Meurer,Lukas P.M. Kremer,Lukas P.M. Kremer,Daniel Kirrmaier,Daniel Kirrmaier,Andrew Freistaedter,Dimitrios Papagiannidis,Carla V. Galmozzi,Megan L. Stanifer,Steeve Boulant,Steeve Boulant,Steffen Klein,Petr Chlanda,Dina Khalid,Isabel Barreto Miranda,Paul Schnitzler,Hans-Georg Kräusslich,Michael Knop,Michael Knop,Simon Anders +22 more
TL;DR: The sensitivity and specificity of the RT-LAMP assay for detecting SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA was determined and a multiplexed sequencing protocol (LAMP-sequencing) was developed as a diagnostic validation procedure to detect and record the outcome of RT- LAMP reactions.
Posted ContentDOI
Screening for SARS-CoV-2 infections with colorimetric RT-LAMP and LAMP sequencing
Viet Loan Dao Thi,Konrad Herbst,Kathleen Boerner,Matthias Meurer,Lukas P M Kremer,Daniel Kirrmaier,Andrew Freistaedter,Dimitrios Papagiannidis,Carla V. Galmozzi,Steffen Klein,Petr Chandla,Dina Khalid,Isabel Barreto Miranda,Paul Schnitzler,Hans-Georg Kraeusslich,Michael Knop,Simon Anders +16 more
TL;DR: This study tested a two-color RT-LAMP protocol using clinical SARS-CoV-2 samples and established a protocol that does not require prior RNA isolation and developed a multiplexed LAMP-sequencing protocol as a validation and backup procedure to double-check the results of visual RT- LAMP assays.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of four different strategies for SARS-CoV-2 surveillance in the general population (CoV-Surv Study): a structured summary of a study protocol for a cluster-randomised, two-factorial controlled trial.
Andreas Deckert,Simon Anders,Manuela De Allegri,Hoa Thi Nguyen,Aurélia Souares,Shannon A. McMahon,Kathleen Boerner,Matthias Meurer,Konrad Herbst,Matthias Sand,Lisa Koeppel,Tobias Siems,Lucia Brugnara,Stephan Brenner,Robin Burk,Dan Lou,Daniel Kirrmaier,Yuanqiang Duan,Svetlana Ovchinnikova,Michael Marx,Hans-Georg Kräusslich,Michael Knop,Till Bärnighausen,Claudia M. Denkinger +23 more
TL;DR: In this article, four different active SARS-CoV-2 testing strategies for general population surveillance are evaluated for their effectiveness in determining and predicting the prevalence of SARS infection in a given population, and the costs and cost-effectiveness of the four surveillance strategies are assessed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of four different strategies for SARS-CoV-2 surveillance in the general population (CoV-Surv Study): study protocol for a two-factorial randomized controlled multi-arm trial with cluster sampling.
Andreas Deckert,Simon Anders,Manuela De Allegri,Hoa Thi Nguyen,Aurélia Souares,Shannon A. McMahon,Matthias Meurer,Robin Burk,Matthias Sand,Lisa Koeppel,Lena Maier Hein,Tobias Roß,Tim Adler,Tobias Siems,Lucia Brugnara,Lucia Brugnara,Stephan Brenner,Konrad Herbst,Daniel Kirrmaier,Yuanqiang Duan,Svetlana Ovchinnikova,Kathleen Boerner,Michael Marx,Michael Marx,Hans-Georg Kräusslich,Michael Knop,Till Bärnighausen,Claudia M. Denkinger +27 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a randomized, randomized, controlled, multi-arm, prospective, interventional, single-blinded design with cluster sampling and four study arms, each representing a different SARS-CoV-2 testing and surveillance strategy based on individuals' self-collection of saliva samples which are then sent to and analyzed by a laboratory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scalable RT‐LAMP‐based SARS‐CoV‐2 testing for infection surveillance with applications in pandemic preparedness
Dan Lou,Matthias Meurer,Svetlana Ovchinnikova,Robin Burk,Anna Denzler,Konrad Herbst,Ioannis A. Papaioannou,Yuanqiang Duan,Max L. Jacobs,Victoria Witte,Daniel Ürge,Daniel Kirrmaier,Michelle Krogemann,Krisztina Gubicza,Kathleen Boerner,Christian Bundschuh,Niklas Weidner,Uta Merle,Britta Knorr,Andreas Welker,Claudia M. Denkinger,Paul Schnitzler,Hans-Georg Kräusslich,Viet Loan Dao Thi,Manuela De Allegri,Hoa Thi Nguyen,Andreas Deckert,Simon Anders,Michael Knop +28 more
TL;DR: In this article , the setup of a cost-effective platform that can be employed in a high-throughput manner, which allows surveillance testing as an acute pandemic control and preparedness tool, exemplified by SARS-CoV•2 diagnostics in an academic environment, is described.
