Journal ArticleDOI
Relationships of peripheral IGF-1, VEGF and BDNF levels to exercise-related changes in memory, hippocampal perfusion and volumes in older adults
Anne Maass,Anne Maass,Sandra Düzel,Tanja Brigadski,Monique Goerke,Andreas Becke,Uwe Sobieray,Katja Neumann,Martin Lövdén,Ulman Lindenberger,Lars Bäckman,Rüdiger C. Braun-Dullaeus,Dörte Ahrens,Hans-Jochen Heinze,Notger G. Müller,Volkmar Lessmann,Michael Sendtner,Emrah Düzel +17 more
TL;DR: Preliminary findings link IGF-I levels to hippocampal volume changes and putatively hippocampus-dependent memory changes that seem to occur over time independently of exercise.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age-related functional changes in domain-specific medial temporal lobe pathways.
David Berron,David Berron,Katja Neumann,Anne Maass,Hartmut Schütze,Klaus Fliessbach,Verena Kiven,Frank Jessen,Magdalena Sauvage,Dharshan Kumaran,Emrah Düzel +10 more
TL;DR: The fine-grained functional organization of the MTL is shown into domain-specific pathways for objects and scenes and their mnemonic discrimination and evidence that aging might affect these pathways in a differential fashion is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebral small vessel disease burden and cognitive and functional outcomes after stroke: A multicenter prospective cohort study
Marios K. Georgakis,Rong Fang,Marco Düring,Frank A. Wollenweber,Felix J. Bode,Sebastian Stösser,Christine Kindlein,Peter Hermann,Thomas G. Liman,Christian H. Nolte,Lucia Kerti,Benno Ikenberg,Kathleen Bernkopf,Holger Poppert,Wenzel Glanz,Valentina Perosa,Daniel Janowitz,Michael Wagner,Katja Neumann,Oliver Speck,Laura Dobisch,Emrah Düzel,Benno Gesierich,Anna Dewenter,Annika Spottke,Karin Waegemann,Michael Görtler,Silke Wunderlich,Matthias Endres,Inga Zerr,Gabor C. Petzold,Martin Dichgans +31 more
TL;DR: Although the global SVD score did not improve prediction, individual SVD markers, assessed across their severity range, improved the calibration, discrimination, and reclassification of predictive models including demographic, clinical, and other imaging factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microvascular Impairment in Patients With Cerebral Small Vessel Disease Assessed With Arterial Spin Labeling Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Pilot Study
TL;DR: It is found that CBF decreases and ATT increases with increasing CSVD severity in patients, most prominent for a white matter (WM) region-of-interest, whereas this relation was almost equally driven by WMHs, lacunes, EPVSs, and CMBs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reliability and Reproducibility of Hadamard Encoded Pseudo-Continuous Arterial Spin Labeling in Healthy Elderly.
TL;DR: In this paper, a Hadamard encoded pseudo-continuous ASL (pCASL) was applied on a group of healthy elderly at two different 3 Tesla Siemens MRI systems (Skyra and mMR Biograph) and evaluated CBF and ATT reliability and reproducibility for several regions of interest (ROI).
