Analysis of Secure LEACH-Based Clustering Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks

Nowadays, the internet of things (IoT) presents a strong focus of research with various initiatives working on the application, and usage of Internet standards in the IoT. But the big challenge of the internet of things is security. In this paper a layered classification and a goal based comparison of attacks in the IoT are presented so that a better understanding of IoT attacks can be achieved and subsequently more efficient and effective techniques and procedures to combat these attacks may be developed.

Internet of Things Security: Layered classification of attacks and possible Countermeasures

Wireless Technology is at its peak when we talk about research and innovation. This field has become a hub of invention of new theories and structures. Mobile Ad-hoc Network is a special point of focus for the researchers. MANET is a collection of wireless mobile nodes which forms a dynamic temporary network without using any existing infrastructure. In recent time the market of mobile devices, laptops, hand held and portable devices is at its zenith so communication between such devices is an important issue. Routing is an essential part in the success of communication among these mobile structures. Routing protocols play an important role for finding an efficient and reliable route from source to destination. In the literature, there are numerous MANET routing protocols aiming to find the most suitable path from source to destination. In this paper, a comprehensive simulation based performance study and analysis is performed on various types of routing protocols over MANET. Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR), Temporally-Ordered Routing Algorithm (TORA), Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) and Geographic Routing Protocol (GRP) has been considered for investigation in this paper based on OPNET simulation. Moreover the performance of these routing protocols will be measured on the basis of throughput, delay, load and data dropped metrics.

Comprehensive Evaluation of AODV, DSR, GRP, OLSR and TORA Routing Protocols with varying number of nodes and traffic applications over MANETs

A mobile Ad-Hoc network is a collection of autonomous wireless nodes without any fixed infrastructure and centralized administration. This paper presents a survey with an objective to compare Ad-Hoc routing protocols AODV and DSR taking into consideration different network parameters performed using simulation, emulation and real world experiments. Various researchers over time have analyzed the performance of AODV and DSR routing protocols based on the different test parameter and environment. AODV and DSR have been mostly studied through simulation, while fewer implementations of these protocols have been done on real network test-bed. The objective of this survey is to review the AODV and DSR protocols based on the performance metrics such as mobility pattern, packet delivery ratio, average end to end delay, throughput, packet drop, node density and in different test environments.

Performance Comparison of AODV and DSR Routing Protocols in Mobile Ad- hoc Networks:

Recently, Networks have developed quickly during the last many years, and attacks on network infrastructure presently are main threats against network and information security.With quickly growing unauthorized activities in network Intrusion Detection as a part of defense is extremely necessary
because traditional firewall techniques cannot provide complete protection
against intrusion. There are numerous study in intrusion detection system (IDS) especially with Genetic algorithms (GA) and Support Vector Machine (SVM) but most of them did
not get the potential of hybrid SVM using GA. Hence this study aims to hybrid GA and forbids
with high accuracy.The paper illustrates
the benefit of hybrid SVM via GA also the paper has proven that by enhancing SVM with GA can reduce false alarms and mean square error (MSE) in detecting intrusion.

A hybrid intrusion detection system based on different machine learning algorithms

Proposing energy efficient routing protocols for Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) and Wireless Sensor Network is an uphill and challenging task. Many different routing protocols based on different features have been proposed to the IETF. Performances of many of these routing protocols have been evaluated focusing on metrics such as delay, routing overhead, and packet delivery. However, no studies have been done to investigate energy aspect of these routing protocols. Thus, this paper will discuss about the power consumption aspect of the MANET routing protocols. A performance comparison of Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocols with respect to average energy consumption and routing energy consumption are explained thoroughly. Then, an evaluation of how the varying metrics in diverse scenarios affect the power consumption in these two protocols is discussed. A detailed simulation model using Network Simulator 2 (NS2) with different mobility and traffic models are used to study their energy consumption. Finally, an evaluation of these routing protocols based on energy consumption is presented.

Performance evaluation of energy consumption for AODV and DSR routing protocols in MANET

In this paper, I describe briefly some of the different types of attacks on wireless sensor networks such as Sybil, HELLO, Wormhole and Sinkhole attacks. Then I describe security analysis of some major routing protocols in wireless sensor network such as Directed Diffusion, TinyOS beaconing, geographic and Rumor routings in term of attacks and security goals. As a result I explain some secure routing protocols for wireless sensor network and is discussed briefly some methods and policy of these protocols to meet their security requirements. At last some simulation results of these protocols that have been done by their designer are mentioned.
