Journal ArticleDOI

RT–PCR detection and identification of three species of cucumoviruses with a genus-specific single pair of primers

TL;DR: Reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used for detection and identification of three cucumoviruses in various plants sources with a single pair of primers, designed as CPTALL-3 and CPTall-5, indicating that the designed primers are only specific for the Cucumovirus genus.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Role of the Cucumber mosaic virus 2b Protein in Viral Movement and Symptom Induction

TL;DR: The results indicate that the 2b protein itself is an important symptom determinant in certain hosts, however, they suggest that the protein may somehow synergize symptom induction by other CMV-encoded factors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transgenic watermelon rootstock resistant to CGMMV (cucumber green mottle mosaic virus) infection

TL;DR: This is the first report of the development by genetic engineering of watermelons resistant to CGMMV infection, and a watermelon rootstock named ‘gongdae’ is successfully transformed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Subcellular Localization of the Barley Stripe Mosaic Virus Triple Gene Block Proteins

TL;DR: Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated protein expression in Nicotiana benthamiana leaf cells and site-specific mutagenesis is used to determine how TGB protein interactions influence their subcellular localization and virus spread, suggesting that the ability of TGB1 to engage in homologous binding interactions is not essential for targeting to the CW.
