Journal ArticleDOI
The diagnostic utility of anti-melanoma differentiation-associated gene 5 antibody testing for predicting the prognosis of Japanese patients with DM.
Tomohiro Koga,K. Fujikawa,Yoshiro Horai,Akitomo Okada,Shin-ya Kawashiri,Naoki Iwamoto,Takahisa Suzuki,Yoshikazu Nakashima,Mami Tamai,Kazuhiko Arima,Satoshi Yamasaki,Hideki Nakamura,Tomoki Origuchi,Yasuhito Hamaguchi,Manabu Fujimoto,Yuji Ishimatsu,Hiroshi Mukae,Masataka Kuwana,Shigeru Kohno,Katsumi Eguchi,Kiyoshi Aoyagi,Atsushi Kawakami +21 more
TL;DR: The presence of anti-MDA5 Ab identifies the characteristic skin, musculoskeletal, pulmonary and prognostic features in patients with DM and seems to predict a group of patients with CADM-complicated fatal RPILD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Falls Among Community‐Dwelling Elderly in Japan
Kiyoshi Aoyagi,Philip D. Ross,James Davis,Richard D. Wasnich,Takuo Hayashi,Tai-ichiro Takemoto +5 more
TL;DR: Compared with native Japanese, the age‐standardized prevalence of falls among Japanese‐Americans was similar but about twice as high for Caucasians, which may explain the lower hip fracture risk of Japanese.
Journal ArticleDOI
Knowledge, risk perception of AIDS and reported sexual behaviour among students in secondary schools and colleges in Tanzania
E. S. Maswanya,Kazuhiko Moji,I. Horiguchi,Koji Nagata,Kiyoshi Aoyagi,Sumihisa Honda,T. Takemoto +6 more
TL;DR: Students engaging in risky behaviour were aware of the risk, even though they failed to change their behaviour, and use of condom prevents HIV infection, multiple logistic regression analyses indicated.
Journal ArticleDOI
A prediction rule for disease outcome in patients with undifferentiated arthritis using magnetic resonance imaging of the wrists and finger joints and serologic autoantibodies
Mami Tamai,Atsushi Kawakami,Masataka Uetani,Shoichiro Takao,Kazuhiko Arima,Naoki Iwamoto,Keita Fujikawa,Toshiyuki Aramaki,Shin-ya Kawashiri,Kunihiro Ichinose,Makoto Kamachi,Hideki Nakamura,Tomoki Origuchi,Hiroaki Ida,Kiyoshi Aoyagi,Katsumi Eguchi +15 more
TL;DR: MRI-proven early joint damage in conjunction with serologic autoantibodies is efficient in predicting progression from UA to RA, and can be used to identify patients who would benefit from early treatment with disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Availability of Cardio-Ankle Vascular Index (CAVI) as a Screening Tool for Atherosclerosis
Koichiro Kadota,Noboru Takamura,Kiyoshi Aoyagi,Hironori Yamasaki,Toshiro Usa,Mio Nakazato,Takahiro Maeda,Mitsuhiro Wada,Kenichiro Nakashima,Koh Abe,Fuminao Takeshima,Yoshiyuki Ozono +11 more
TL;DR: CAVI is an appropriate screening tool for atherosclerosis, but further studies are needed to establish a convenient and effective screening system using it.
