Journal ArticleDOI

Sporosarcina aquimarina sp. nov., a bacterium isolated from seawater in Korea, and transfer of Bacillus globisporus (Larkin and Stokes 1967), Bacillus psychrophilus (Nakamura 1984) and Bacillus pasteurii (Chester 1898) to the genus Sporosarcina as Sporosarcina globispora comb. nov., Sporosarcina psychrophila comb. nov. and Sporosarcina pasteurii comb. nov., and emended description of th.

TL;DR: A light-orange-coloured, facultatively anaerobic, rod-shaped bacterium, which was isolated from seawater in Korea, was taxonomically studied by a polyphasic approach and it is proposed that strain SW28T should be placed in the genus Sporosarcina as a new species.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbulbifer salipaludis sp. nov., a moderate halophile isolated from a Korean salt marsh.

TL;DR: On the basis of phenotypic properties, phylogeny and genomic data, strain SM-1T should be placed in the genus Microbulbifer as a member of a novel species, for which the name MicroBulbifer salipaludis sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bacillus marisflavi sp. nov. and Bacillus aquimaris sp. nov., isolated from sea water of a tidal flat of the Yellow Sea in Korea.

TL;DR: On the basis of phenotypic and phylogenetic data and genomic distinctiveness, strains TF-11 (T) and TF-12(T) should be placed in the genus Bacillus as two distinct novel species, for which the names Bacillus marisflavi sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Halomonas alimentaria sp. nov., isolated from jeotgal, a traditional Korean fermented seafood.

TL;DR: The phylogenetic tree showed that strain YKJ-16T forms a distinct evolutionary lineage within the radiation comprisingHalomonas species and forms a coherent cluster with Halomonas halodenitrificans, Halomonus cupida and Halomona pacifica.
