Journal ArticleDOI
Changes in bone mineral density and bone metabolism after sleeve gastrectomy: a systematic review and meta-analysis
TL;DR: The present study found a decreased BMD among patients with obesity after SG, and there were significant increases in serum calcium, serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D, and serum phosphate.
Journal ArticleDOI
Esophageal Pathophysiologic Changes and Adenocarcinoma After Bariatric Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Veeravich Jaruvongvanich,Reem Matar,Karthik Ravi,M. Hassan Murad,Kornpong Vantanasiri,Nicha Wongjarupong,Patompong Ungprasert,Eric J. Vargas,Daniel B. Maselli,Larry J. Prokop,Barham K. Abu Dayyeh +10 more
TL;DR: An observed increased nonacid reflux after RYGB might contribute to failure of gastroesophageal reflux disease improvement and refluxate might be noxious to the esophagus, warranting further studies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endoscopic full-thickness suturing plus argon plasma mucosal coagulation versus argon plasma mucosal coagulation alone for weight regain after gastric bypass: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Veeravich Jaruvongvanich,Kornpong Vantanasiri,Passisd Laoveeravat,Reem Matar,Eric J. Vargas,Daniel B. Maselli,Maryam Alkhatry,Lea Fayad,Vivek Kumbhari,Ricardo J. TL;DR: Smaller aperture of the post- TORe GJA and greater change in the GJA diameter correlated with greater weight loss in APMC-TORe and numerical trends in ft-Tore, demonstrating that both ft-tore and APMC -TORe offer significant and comparable weight-loss outcomes with a high and comparable safety profile.
Journal ArticleDOI
Advances and new frontiers for immunotherapy in colorectal cancer: Setting the stage for neoadjuvant success?
TL;DR: A comprehensive review of the current landscape of immunotherapeutic strategies in colorectal cancer and insight into how these strategies may evolve in the next decade and be adapted to more localized forms of cancers of the colon and rectum is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Efficacy and Safety of a Procedureless Gastric Balloon for Weight Loss: a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
TL;DR: This meta-analysis demonstrates that EIGB is a safe device offering an effective weight loss that warrants further studies for its long-term weight loss outcomes.
