Journal ArticleDOI

Epidemiologic analysis of sporadic Salmonella typhi isolates and those from outbreaks by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis.

TL;DR: Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis is a useful method for comparing and differentiating S. typhi isolates for epidemiological purposes and shows a good correlation with the clonal nature and the close genetic identities of isolates involved in sporadic cases of infection.

Molecular Analysis ofSalmonella enteritidisby Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis and Ribotyping

TL;DR: It is concluded that the close genetic similarity observed between epidemiologically unrelated and outbreak-related isolates of S. enteritidis suggests that both PFGE and ribotyping are of limited value in the epidemiological analysis of these particular isolates, possibly because of the highly clonal nature of pathogenic strain S. entersitidis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular analysis of Salmonella enteritidis by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis and ribotyping.

TL;DR: A total of 61 isolates of Salmonella enteritidis were analyzed by the techniques of pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) and ribotyping as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

A microdevice for rapid, monoplex and colorimetric detection of foodborne pathogens using a centrifugal microfluidic platform.

TL;DR: A centrifugal microfluidic automatic wireless endpoint detection system integrated with loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) for monoplex pathogen detection that is suitable for point-of-care (POC) testing with high simplicity, providing affordability and accessibility even to poor, resource-limited settings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of Food Safety Knowledge, Attitude, Self-Reported Practices, and Microbiological Hand Hygiene of Food Handlers

TL;DR: The suggestion of this study was that the food handlers had adequate food safety knowledge, but perceived knowledge failed to be translated into practices at work.
