Rotavirus serotype G5 associated with diarrhea in Brazilian children.
TL;DR: Rotavirus serotype G5 in fecal specimens of 38 Brazilian children with diarrhea was identified by PCR and enzyme immunoassays and exhibited long RNA electropherotypes and either subgroup II or nonsubgroup I-nonsubgroup II specificities.
Journal ArticleDOI
A virus with bi-segmented double-stranded RNA genome in guinea pig intestines.
Journal ArticleDOI
The roles of GSTM1 and GSTT1 null genotypes and other predictors in anti-tuberculosis drug-induced liver injury.
T. P. Monteiro,Kênia Balbi El-Jaick,A. L. Jeovanio‐Silva,Pedro Emmanuel Alvarenga Americano do Brasil,M. J. M. Costa,Valeria Cavalcanti Rolla,L. de Castro +6 more
TL;DR: GSTM1 and GSTT1 null genotypes in Brazilian patients with tuberculosis (TB) are investigated, adjusting for other possible predictors of ATD‐induced liver injury.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nosocomial Spread of Hepatitis B Virus in Two Hemodialysis Units, Investigated by Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism Analysis
TL;DR: The results demonstrate the value of RFLP analysis in establishing common sources of infection in hemodialysis center nosocomial infections that occurred in two Brazilian he modialysis centers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diarrhoea in mice infected with a human rotavirus.
Vera Gouvea,A. A. Alencar,Ortrud Monika Barth,L. de Castro,Alexandre Madi Fialho,H. P. Araújo,S. Majerowicz,H. G. Pereira +7 more
TL;DR: Oral inoculation of newborn mice with the MET strain of human rotavirus produced transient diarrhoeal disease and virus recovered from intestinal suspensions of infected mice showed the typical electrophoretic profile of the genome of the inoculated strain.
