TL;DR: Lasing of Fe:ZnSe is demonstrated, for the first time to the authors' knowledge, for temperatures ranging from 15 to 180 K, with an Er:YAG laser operating at 2.698mum as the pump source.

TL;DR: A tunable Er:YAG laser, side pumped by a quasi-cw InGaAs diode array, generates > 500 mW of power at 2.936 microm using a plano-concave resonator to couple the diode emission into the resonating modes of the oscillator.
