Current degradation and coupling losses in ring shaped wires due to applied magnetic field changes

TL;DR: In this article, the stationary electric field and current distribution in a ring-shaped wire subject to both parallel and perpendicular applied magnetic fields are calculated and the time derivative of the parallel field is limited for the center of the wire to be unsaturated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selffield losses and selffield stability of superconducting wires with low conductivity matrix material

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of the normal material in a superconducting wire on the selffield losses has been investigated, and the results show that the contribution of normal material is considerable in the case of a highly conductive material like Cu.
Book ChapterDOI

Efficiency aspects in superconducting rectifiers

TL;DR: In this paper, the overall efficiency of thermally and magnetically controlled superconducting rectifiers is analyzed for two experimental rectifiers constructed at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
