Self field losses in superconducting circular wires

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of single core and multifilament wires with Cu and CuNi matrix has been studied and good agreements have been obtained between experimental results and numerical calculations.

A Mechanically Driven Switch for Decoupling Cryocoolers

TL;DR: In this paper, a superconductive magnet system solely cooled by thermal conduction and two Gifford-McMahon cryocoolers has been developed at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering.
Journal ArticleDOI

A 25 kA, 2T, 78 kJ, 52 litre superconducting test coil. Strength calculations and construction

TL;DR: In this paper, a 25 kA superconducting rectifier with a single layer solenoid is presented, which consists of 26 turns of a Rutherford cable in one layer covered at the outside with 6 millimeter reinforced epoxy.
Journal ArticleDOI

The response of metals in trapezoidal magnetic fields

TL;DR: In this paper, the inductive response of metals to applied fields with trapezoidal time dependence is described for samples with cylindrical geometry and for slabs, and the influence of coil effects and magnetoresistance is accounted for but mean free path and surface effects are ignored.
