Journal ArticleDOI
Superleak tight aluminium to stainless steel bond
TL;DR: In this article, the connection of an aluminium container to thin walled stainless steel tubes for use in a cryostat is described, and the resulting joint showed superleak tightness.
Book ChapterDOI
Development of two-stage pellet injectors
Francesco Scaramuzzi,P. Cardoni,L. Martinis,G. Ronci,A. Frattolillo,S. Migliori,G. Angelone,C. Domma,A. Reggiori,R. Carlevaro,G. Riva,G.B. Daminelli +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, a miniaturized version of the injector, to be operated on the Frascati Tokamak, FTU, has been described and developments aimed to obtain the injection of many pellets in rapid succession, still using a two-stage gun, have been initiated.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
First results from the BOOMERanG experiment
P. de Bernardis,Peter A. R. Ade,James J. Bock,John Bond,Julian Borrill,A. Boscaleri,K. Coble,B. P. Crill,G. de Gasperis,G. De Troia,P. C. Farese,Pedro G. Ferreira,Ken Ganga,M. Giacometti,Eric Hivon,Viktor Hristov,A. Iacoangeli,A. H. Jaffe,Andrew E. Lange,L. Martinis,Silvia Masi,P. V. Mason,Philip Daniel Mauskopf,Alessandro Melchiorri,L. Miglio,T. E. Montroy,Calvin B. Netterfield,Enzo Pascale,F. Piacentini,Dmitry Pogosyan,F. Pongetti,Simon Prunet,S. Rao,Giovanni Romeo,J. E. Ruhl,F. Scaramuzzi,D. Sforna,Nicola Vittorio +37 more
TL;DR: The first results from the BOOMERanG experiment were reported in this paper, which mapped at 90, 150, 240 and 410 GHz a wide (3%) region of the microwave sky with minimal local contamination.
Patent
High rate, single or multi-barrel, miniaturized injection system of cryogenic pellets, in particular for use in machines for the controlled nuclear fusion by magnetic confinement of plasma
Antonio Frattolillo,Silvio Migliori,Francesco Scaramuzzi,P. Cardoni,L. Martinis,Luciano Mori,Adolfo Reggiori,Giambattista Daminelli +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a pneumatic system operating with hydrogen or helium and formed of one or more two-stage or multi-stage propulsion systems provided with special control or cutoff valves, the relative feeding circuits, and decompression chambers, a cryogenic device formed of a Dewar flask containing liquid helium, a circuit for transferring and recovering the cooling fluid, and one or several conventional (in situ) or alternative cryostats provided each with a launching barrels in which the cryogenic pellets are solidified.
Journal ArticleDOI
Far infrared multi-frequency observation of interstellar dust clouds
Silvia Masi,E. Aquilini,A. Boscaleri,P. de Bernardis,M. De Petris,M. Gervasi,L. Martinis,V. Natale,Pasquale Palumbo,Francesco Scaramuzzi +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the ARGO 1993 balloon-baring telescope was used to detect diffuse interstellar dust emission at wavelengths between 0.5 and 2 mm and the data were spatially consistent with the IRAS 100 μm sky maps.
