Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of age and physical activity on the autonomic control of heart rate in healthy men.
Ruth Caldeira de Melo,Michele Daniela Borges dos Santos,Ester da Silva,Robison José Quitério,Marlene Aparecida Moreno,Michel Silva Reis,I. A. Verzola,L. Oliveira,Luiz Eduardo Barreto Martins,Lourenço Gallo-Júnior,A. M. Catai +10 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that aging reduces HR variability, however, regular physical activity positively affects vagal activity on the heart and consequently attenuates the effects of aging in the autonomic control of HR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Heart rate variability under resting conditions in postmenopausal and young women
T. F. Ribeiro,George Dantas de Azevedo,Júlio César Crescêncio,Vera Regina Fernandes da Silva Marães,V Papa,A. M. Catai,R. M. M. Verzola,L. Oliveira,M.F. Silva de Sá,L Gallo Junior,Ester da Silva +10 more
TL;DR: Time domain HRV proved to be a noninvasive and sensitive method for the identification of changes in autonomic modulation of the sinus node in postmenopausal women.
Design of a computerized system to evaluate the cardiac function during dynamic exercise
Expedito Eustáquio Ribeiro da Silva,A. M. Catai,L C Trevelin,J O Guimaraes,L P Silva Junior,Larissa Marina Pereira Silva,L. Oliveira,Luis Aparecido Milan,Luiz Eduardo Barreto Martins,L Gallo Junior +9 more
Journal Article
Avaliação da variabilidade da freqüência cardíaca em repouso de homens saudáveis sedentários e de hipertensos e coronariopatas em treinamento físico
L. D. Novais,D. I. Sakabe,Anielle C. M. Takahashi,H. Gongora,C. Taciro,Leb Martins,L. Oliveira,Expedito Eustáquio Ribeiro da Silva,L Gallo Junior,Aparecida Maria Catai +9 more
TL;DR: The findings showing an absence of statistically significant differences amongst the three groups studied could be related to the effects of APT on HYM and CHDM compared to HM.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of anaerobic threshold using heart rate response during dynamic exercise
Vera Regina Fernandes da Silva Marães,Ester da Silva,A. M. Catai,L. D. Novais,M.A.S. Moura,L. Oliveira,Lourenço Gallo +6 more
TL;DR: The change in HR response using ARIMA models at submaximal dynamic exercise powers proved to be a promising approach for detecting AT in normal volunteers.
