Network flow and systems of representatives
L. R. Ford,D. R. Fulkerson +1 more
TL;DR: The theory developed for the study of flows in networks sometimes provides a useful tool for dealing with certain kinds of combinatorial problems, as has been previously indicated in this paper, where Hall-type theorems for the existence of systems of distinct representatives which contain a prescribed set of marginal elements can be obtained in this way.
A primal--dual algorithm
TL;DR: In this article, the procedure developed by two of the authors (Ford and Fulkerson) for solving transportation problems is a natural extension of the Kuhn-Egervary method for solving assignment problems.
