Journal ArticleDOI

X-ray photoelectron spectra of oxygen in oxides of Co, Ni, Fe and Zn

TL;DR: In this article, the X-ray photoelectron spectra of Co-, Ni-, Fe- and Znoxides obtained by oxidation of metal films, as well as in powder form, were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

ESCA studies of copper oxides and copper molybdates

TL;DR: In this paper, the binding energy of core electrons of copper molybdates was measured using X-ray-induced Auger spectra and the influence of Madelung potential on their binding energy was analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI

On chemical shifts of ESCA and Auger lines in cobalt oxides

TL;DR: In this article, photoelectron and Auger lines in ESCA spectra of the cobalt-oxygen system have been investigated to estimate the contribution from relaxation energy, and it was found that relaxation energy in metallic cobalt is much greater then in CoO, whereas the relaxation term in Co 3 O 4 is similar to that for the metal.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron spectroscopic studies of the reduction of WO3

TL;DR: In this article, five different doublets corresponding to W 4f electrons were observed in the course of reduction of WO3, corresponding to an apparent 2+ oxidation state, and the edge-sharing octahedra on shear planes were then formed, in which pairing of W4+ ions occurs due to metal-metal bonding.
