Journal ArticleDOI

Ketene thioacetals from dithioesters

TL;DR: Ketene thioacetals have been obtained in very good yields by treatment of dithioesters R′CH2C=S(SR) with one equivalent of potassium amide in liquid ammonia and subsequent alkylation with alkyl halide as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Alkylthiolation of ambident anions derived from some unsaturated organic sulfides

TL;DR: In this paper, the reaction of the anions derived from 1,1,3-tris(alkylthio)-2-alkynes RCCCH(SC2H5)2 with dialkyl disulfides was studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dimetallation of phenylacetylene. Selective ortho-substitution

TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of lithium phenylacetylide with the complex BuLi-ButOK in a mixture of tetrahydrofuran and hexane leads to the ortho-metallated PDE, and subsequent addition of methyl iodide, dimethyl disulphide, trimethylchlorosilane, and selenium gives the corresponding orthosubstituted PDEs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cleavage of PP Bonds in Phosphorus. An Efficient Method for the Preparation of Primary Alkylphosphines

TL;DR: In this paper, the cleavage of P P bonds in red (and yellow) phosphorus can be brought about by adding tert -butyl alcohol to a mixture of phosphorus, lithium and liquid ammonia; subsequent addition of alkyl halides gives primary phosphines in good yields.
