Journal ArticleDOI

A randomized prospective trial of prophylactic immunosuppression with ATG-fresenius versus OKT3 after renal transplantation

TL;DR: A 7-day induction therapy with OKT3 does not improve outcome or diminish immunological graft loss when compared with ATG-F, but is associated with more rejections, infections, and side effects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Demonstration of albumin receptors onisolated human hepatocytes by light and scanning electron microscopy

TL;DR: The presence of albumin receptors on the plasma membrane of isolated human hepatocytes was investigated employing albumin‐coupled latex minibeads and Hepatocyte‐latex reaction was visualized by phase contrast and scanning electron microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevention of cancellous bone loss but persistence of renal bone disease despite normal 1,25 vitamin D levels two years after kidney transplantation.

TL;DR: Assessing whether an immunosuppressive regimen combining cyclosporine with no or the lowest possible maintenance doses of glucocorticoid may prevent osteopenia after kidney transplantation found that it did not and metabolic bone abnormalities did not resolve 1-2 years after transplantation despite normalization of serum 1,25 vitamin D levels.
Journal Article

Morphologic findings in "zero-hour" biopsies of renal transplants.

TL;DR: Since donor age, glomerulosclerosis, glomersulonephritis, intravascular coagulation or eclamptic changes seem not to compromise renal function after transplantation a more liberal choice of donors should be considered.
