Journal ArticleDOI

Alternative bioseparation operations: life beyond packed-bed chromatography.

TL;DR: The current state of unit operations posing as chromatography alternatives--including membrane filtration, aqueous two-phase extraction, three-phase partitioning, precipitation, crystallization, monoliths and membrane chromatography--and their potential to do the unthinkable are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI

High‐throughput process development for recombinant protein purification

TL;DR: A novel microtiter‐plate based screening method to identify the appropriate sequence of chromatographic steps that result in high purities of bioproducts from their respective culture broths and represents a novel paradigm approach for the high‐throughput process development of recombinant proteins.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solubilization of subtilisin in CO2 using fluoroether-functional amphiphiles.

TL;DR: In addition to solubilization via an inverse emulsion, it has been shown that one can strip protein-surfactant aggregates from a middle phase emulsion using pure CO2, suggesting an ion- pairing type mechanism.
