Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of maternal immunization on influenza hospitalizations in infants
Katherine A. Poehling,Peter G. Szilagyi,Mary Allen Staat,Beverly M. Snively,Daniel C. Payne,Carolyn B. Bridges,Susan Y. Chu,Laney S. Light,Mila M. Prill,Lyn Finelli,Marie R. Griffin,Kathryn M. Edwards +11 more
TL;DR: The results support the current influenza vaccination recommendation for pregnant women and suggest that infants of vaccinated mothers were 45-48% less likely to have influenza hospitalizations than infants of unvaccinated mothers.
Journal ArticleDOI
ATP1A3 mutations in infants: a new rapid-onset dystonia-Parkinsonism phenotype characterized by motor delay and ataxia
Allison Brashear,Jonathan W. Mink,Deborah F. Hill,Niki Boggs,W. Vaughn McCall,Mark Stacy,Beverly M. Snively,Laney S. Light,Kathleen J. Sweadner,Laurie J. Ozelius,Leslie Morrison +10 more
TL;DR: New clinical features of delayed motor development, hypotonia, and ataxia in two young children with mutations in the ATP1A3 gene are reported, which are the earliest presentations of RDP, both with fluctuating features.
Journal ArticleDOI
Examining gender differences in risk factors for suicide attempts made 1 and 7 years later in a nationally representative sample.
TL;DR: These results indicate similar risk factors for nonfatal suicide attempts among males and females, however, younger age and somatic symptoms were reported to berisk factors for females but not for males, suggesting the need for targeted interventions with young females with somatic complaints.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psychiatric disorders in rapid-onset dystonia-parkinsonism
Allison Brashear,Jared F. Cook,Deborah F. Hill,Alethea Amponsah,Beverly M. Snively,Laney S. Light,Niki Boggs,Cynthia K. Suerken,Mark Stacy,Laurie J. Ozelius,Kathleen J. Sweadner,W. Vaughn McCall +11 more
TL;DR: Psychotic symptoms tended to emerge before or concurrent with motor symptom onset, suggesting that this could be another expression of the ATP1A3 gene mutation.
Journal ArticleDOI
New triggers and non-motor findings in a family with rapid-onset dystonia-parkinsonism.
Richard L. Barbano,Deborah F. Hill,Beverly M. Snively,Laney S. Light,Niki Boggs,W. Vaughn McCall,Mark Stacy,Laurie J. Ozelius,Kathleen J. Sweadner,Allison Brashear +9 more
TL;DR: The phenotype and age of onset is broader than previously reported in RDP, suggesting that it could be under-reported, and this may have implications for future research into genetic susceptibility for psychiatric disease.
