An axle driving apparatus wherein a hydraulic motor and a hydraulic pump for a hydro-static-transmission are housed in a transmission casing of the axle driving apparatus and a center section for connecting the hydraulic motor and hydraulic pump is disposed in the transmission casing, the center section being fixed at the butt joint portion at the transmission casing, and an oil passage from the hydraulic pump to the hydraulic motor at the center section is bent at a right angle so as to extend the motor shaft in parallel to the axles, so that the rotation direction of the motor shaft conventionally changed by bevel gears is changed by the oil passages in the center section.

An interlock braking system for motorcycles comprising a brake pedal, a single master cylinder which generates a braking pressure according to an external force applied to the brake pedal, first and second brake mechanisms connected to the master cylinder for applying first and second braking forces according to the braking pressure to the front and rear wheels, respectively, and an anti-lock mechanism for changing the braking pressure according to rotational speeds of the front and rear wheels to prevent the wheels from becoming locked. In this manner, the interlock braking system effectively avoids the occurrence of a wheel-lock condition when braking the front and rear wheels of a motorcycle.

In a broad respect, vehicles that are capable of making a low- to zero-radius turn using the independent rotation of drive wheels and by turning the non-driving steerable structure or structures (such as wheels) with a steering input device (in some embodiments, the driving wheels also may be capable of being turned). This may be accomplished using a steering system, a speed control system and an integration device (together, a control system) that are configured to work together to provide correct steering in forward and reverse, and, in some embodiments, to reduce the speed of the outboard drive wheel of the vehicle when it enters an extreme turn under constant speed input. Different systems configured for use in such vehicles are included.

A control mechanism (14) associated with a tractor operators seat (110) and an arm rest (112) is disclosed which includes a steering selector apparatus (116) having an upstanding member (134) and a tiller arm (118) extending outwardly therefrom. The tiller arm (118) is advantageously located immediately forwardly of the arm rest (112) and has a mounting portion (142) and hand grip portion (144) that can be easily grasped by an operator's downwardly facing hand palm. A support assembly (136) pivotally supports the upstanding member (134) for movement about a fixed upstanding axis (140) and a control device (46,50,52,54,184) steers the tractor in response to the swinging movement of the tiller arm (118). In response to rotation of the hand grip portion (144) about the axis (158) of the tiller arm (118) a second control device (38,42,174) effects a change in the gear condition of an associated transmission (36).

Disclosed herein is a miniature, portable, self-contained power machine for handling materials, comprising, a rigid frame providing the base structure for all components of said machine, a means of electrical power supply for said machine, means for regulating the motion of said machine, two endless belts forming a belt traction system and serving as the means to move said machine over various types of terrain, means for readily receiving and rigidly securing a variety of miniature, hydraulically powered material handling implements to said machine, and a central hydraulic system which is powered by said power supply means and which supplies power to said attachable material handling implements. The machine has a diversity of applications in numerous industries. The machine accepts any of a variety of attachable implements through an assembly socket and a torque arm socket, and then links the implement to the central hydraulic system with hydraulic hoses leading to a hydraulic power manifold. Two of these implements include a telescoping boom and bucket assembly and an improved forward reach and higher lift capacity bucket assembly. A hydraulically powered dumping bed attachment may be bolted to the rigid frame of the machine and further modified to result in a hydraulically powered dumping bed and hopper attachment.

Miniature, portable, self-contained power machine

An improved straight tracking control system equalizes the output speeds of a pair of hydrostatic transmissions during straight forward movement of a vehicle. The control system includes a pump assembly having a housing which is rotated at a speed which varies as a function of variations in the speed of one of the tracks of the vehicle. This housing defines a pumping chamber in which a rotor is rotated at a speed which varies as a function of variations in the speed of the other track of the vehicle. When the vehicle is moving straight forward and the two tracks are being driven at the same speed, there is no relative rotation between the rotor and housing so that the pump assembly is ineffective to pump fluid. Upon acceleration of one of the tracks relative to the other and a resulting relative rotation between the housing and rotor, the pump assembly is effective to discharge fluid under pressure to a piston and cylinder assembly. This fluid actuates the piston and cylinder assembly to operate a valve. Operation of the valve ports fluid to an actuator assembly to vary the output speed of one of the hydrostatic transmissions in a manner so as to equalize the output speeds of the two hydrostatic transmissions. In one embodiment of the invention, a second piston and cylinder assembly is actuated to vary the output speed of a second hydrostatic transmission after the first piston and cylinder assembly has been actuated to vary the output speed of the first hydrostatic transmission.
