The method includes receiving from the content providers incoming feed files where each feed file contains information describing the content. The method determines if the feed files are approved by applying a template to the feed files and also receives request files from the subscribers where each request file contains search criteria. The method provides one or more answer files in response to the request files where each answer file identifies feed files that meet the search criteria of a corresponding request file. The answer files are used to access or permit access to digital content on the web. In addition, a graphical user interface is described to manage, edit, promote and delete the feed files provided to the system.

Such portion may be designated by one or more application offsets for the file. The system may provide an in-chunk index that includes mapping information between the application offsets and the secondary copy offsets. Chunks may refer to logical data units in which secondary copies are stored, and the in-chunk index for a chunk may be stored in secondary storage with the chunk. Because the mapping information may not be provided at a fixed interval, the system can search through application offsets in the in-chunk index to locate the secondary copy offset corresponding to the portion application offset(s). In this manner, the system may restore the designated portion of the secondary copy in a fast and efficient manner by using the in-chunk index.

The content manager may receive a request for content in a non-compatible repository, refer to the metadata registry to select a repository interface to employ, transmit a request for the requested content to the selected repository interface, and receive the requested content from the repository interface. A repository interface registry maintains information about available repository interfaces. Entries may be added to either the metadata registry and the repository interface registry, thus allowing the systems and methods to be extended to be able to access additional non-compatible repositories.

The values of the properties of the one or more entities within the target profile are set to the property values of the corresponding one or more mapped entities within the source profile in response to the comparison indicating the properties correspond. The external data service provides the property modifications to the client services component with an initial data identifier that indicates a state of the property modifications.
