Enhancement of heat transfer using nanofluids—An overview

TL;DR: A colloidal mixture of nano-sized particles in a base fluid, called nanofluids, tremendously enhances the heat transfer characteristics of the original fluid, and is ideally suited for practical applications due to its marvelous characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental Investigation on the Thermal Conductivity and Viscosity of Silver-Deionized Water Nanofluid

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal conductivity and viscosity of deionized water nanofluid is measured and studied for temperatures between 50°C and 90°C using the transient hot-wire apparatus and the Cannon-Fenske viscometer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat transfer characteristics of silver/water nanofluids in a shell and tube heat exchanger

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental study was carried out to investigate the heat transfer characteristics of silver/water nanofluids in a shell and tube heat exchanger, and the results showed an increase in convective heat transfer coefficient and effectiveness of the nano-materials as the particle volume concentration is increased.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of Thermo Physical Properties of Metallic Nanofluids for High Temperature Applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a transient hot-wire apparatus is used for measuring the thermal conductivity of nanofluids and a Cannon-Fenske viscometer is used to measure the kinematic viscosity of nanophotonics.
