Journal ArticleDOI
Structural variation in copper(I) complexes with pyridylmethylamide ligands: structural analysis with a new four-coordinate geometry index, tau4.
TL;DR: A new geometric parameter for four-coordinate compounds, tau(4), is proposed as an improved, simple metric for quantitatively evaluating the geometry of four- coordinate complexes and compounds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Delocalized Mixed-Valence Bi- and Trinuclear Complexes with Short Cu−Cu Bonds
TL;DR: Two mixed-valence copper complexes were synthesized with ligands N,N'-(2-methyl-2-pyridylpropan-1,3-diyl)bis(acetamide) (H2pp(ac)2)2 and NaOTf, both of which contain fully delocalized, mixed-Valence Cu(1.5)Cu( 1. 5) moieties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multinuclear copper complexes of pyridylmethylamide ligands
TL;DR: Copper complexes of a family of pyridylmethylamide ligands HL(Ph), HL(Me3) and HL (Ph3) were synthesized and characterized and have different nuclearity owing to varying steric properties of the ligands used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Copper(I) coordination chemistry of (pyridylmethyl)amide ligands.
Lei Yang,Robert P. Houser +1 more
TL;DR: X-ray crystal structures reveal that for all complexes the ligands coordinate to the Cu in a monodentate fashion, and inter- or intramolecular hydrogen-bonding interactions formed between the amide NH group and either amide C=O or chloro groups stabilize these complexes in the solid state and strongly influence the structures formed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and Characterization of Cu(II) and Mixed-Valence Cu(I)Cu(II) Clusters Supported by Pyridylamide Ligands.
Joseph D. Schneider,Brett A. Smith,Grant A. Williams,Douglas R. Powell,Felio Perez,Gerard T. Rowe,Lei Yang +6 more
TL;DR: A group of copper complexes supported by polydentate pyridylamide ligands H2bpda and H2ppda were synthesized and characterized to explore mixed-valence copper chemistry and the triple-decker pentanuclear cluster [CuII3CuI2(bpda)3(μ3-O)] (5) was prepared.
