Journal ArticleDOI

A review on flame retardant technology in China. Part I: development of flame retardants

TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide an insight into some developments in flame retardants for different polymeric materials in China, primarily based on the publications that have appeared in the last 15 years.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced epoxy/silica composites mechanical properties by introducing graphene oxide to the interface.

TL;DR: A core-shell structured hybrid (SiO(2)-GO) was prepared and introduced into an epoxy polymer matrix as a new filler, which optimized the modulus, strength and fracture toughness of the composites simultaneously.
Journal ArticleDOI

An Efficient Mono-Component Polymeric Intumescent Flame Retardant for Polypropylene: Preparation and Application

TL;DR: Results indicated that PP/PA-APP composite exhibited superior performance compared with PP/APP composite, and the oxygen index value of PP containing 22 wt % of PA-APP reached 31.2%, which increased by 58.4% compared with that of PP with equal amount of APP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ammonium polyphosphate chemically-modified with ethanolamine as an efficient intumescent flame retardant for polypropylene

TL;DR: In this article, an ethanolamine-modified ammonium polyphosphate (ETA-APP) was applied to polypropylene (PP) to improve its flame-retardant efficiency.
Journal ArticleDOI

Novel Multifunctional Organic–Inorganic Hybrid Curing Agent with High Flame-Retardant Efficiency for Epoxy Resin

TL;DR: The results of all the aforementioned studies distinctly confirmed that DETA-APP was an effective flame-retardant curing agent for EP.
