Transplantation with survivin-engineered mesenchymal stem cells results in better prognosis in a rat model of myocardial infarction.

TL;DR: To investigate the effect of survivin (SVV)‐engineered mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) on post‐infarction cardiac performance and remodelling in rats, survivin-engineered MSCs are used as a ‘spatially aggregating agent’.
Journal ArticleDOI

Artificial intelligence and optical coherence tomography for the automatic characterisation of human atherosclerotic plaques.

TL;DR: In this paper, a deep convolutional network with encoding-decoding architecture and pseudo-3D input was developed and trained using hybrid loss, which was integrated into commercial software to be externally validated on additional IVOCT pullbacks from three international core labs.
Journal ArticleDOI

A meta-analysis of arterial spin labelling perfusion values for the prediction of glioma grade

TL;DR: Results indicate that tumour blood flow from ASL differs significantly with respect to the glioma grade, and there is evidence that ASL may be useful to distinguish high- and low-grade gliomas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pharmacological postconditioning with tanshinone IIA attenuates myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats by activating the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase pathway

TL;DR: Results demonstrate that tanshinone IIA postconditioning protects the myocardium from ischemia-reperfusion injury through the PI3K/Akt pathway, and the mitochondrial permeability transition (MPT) may be also involved in this process.
