TL;DR: The 5-year age-adjusted relative survival rates in Umbria were higher than in other Italian and European registries for selected sites (stomach, colon, rectum, lung) and could probably be related to the availability of specialist care and to the easy access to a network of oncological services.

The role of anti-smoking legislation on cigarette and alcohol consumption habits in Italy

TL;DR: It is shown that the introduction of smoke-free legislation in Italy significantly affected smoking behavior and there are significant indirect effects on alcohol consumption for the main alcoholic beverage categories.
