Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluating genomic DNA extraction methods from human whole blood using endpoint and real-time PCR assays.
Linda Koshy,A L Anju,Sivadasanpillai Harikrishnan,V R Kutty,V T Jissa,Irin Kurikesu,Parvathy Jayachandran,A. Jayakumaran Nair,A. Gangaprasad,G M Nair,Perumana R. Sudhakaran +10 more
TL;DR: Compared to the traditional phenol–chloroform/proteinase-K method, the Rapid-Method is indicated to be a more suitable protocol for genomic DNA extraction from human whole blood in terms of DNA quantity, quality, safety, processing time and cost.
Journal ArticleDOI
Value of VKORC1 (-1639G>A) rs9923231 genotyping in predicting warfarin dose: A replication study in South Indian population.
Sivadasanpillai Harikrishnan,Linda Koshy,Ram Subramanian,G. Sanjay,C.P. Vineeth,A. Jayakumaran Nair,G M Nair,Perumana R. Sudhakaran +7 more
TL;DR: These preliminary results strongly support the use of VKORC1 (−1639G>A) rs9923231 polymorphism for genetically guided initial warfarin dosing in South Indian patients with heart valve replacements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dysregulation of miRNA and its reversal with l-ascorbic acid during AGE-BSA induced ER stress in Mus musculus neuronal cells
Parvathy Jayachandran,Linda Koshy,Perumana R. Sudhakaran,Govindapillai Mohanadasan Nair,A. Gangaprasad,Ananthakrishnan Jayakumaran Nair +5 more
TL;DR: A statistically significant downregulation of 7 miRNAs is identified and inverse expression relationship with their UPR related targets such as Perk, Ire1α, Chop and Puma is observed during advanced glycated BSA induced ER stress in Mus musculus cortical and hippocampal neurons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prioritizing rs7294 as a mirSNP contributing to warfarin dosing variability.
TL;DR: The results support the inclusion of rs7294 as a functional variable for population-specific dosing algorithms to improve dosing accuracy and predict altered hybrid stability for the hsa-miR-133a-3p conserved binding site, providing evidence for miRNA-mediated gene regulation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lack of association of mirSNP rs11174811 in AVPR1A gene with arterial blood pressure and hypertension in South Indian population.
Linda Koshy,S V Vijayalekshmi,Sivadasanpillai Harikrishnan,Kutty V Raman,V T Jissa,A. Jayakumaran Nair,A. Gangaprasad,G M Nair,Perumana R. Sudhakaran +8 more
TL;DR: The results did not support an association of the mirSNP rs11174811 with the hypertension phenotype or with continuous blood pressure outcomes in the south Indian population.
