Short-term traffic congestion prediction with Conv–BiLSTM considering spatio-temporal features

TL;DR: Prediction and evaluation experiments prove that the traffic congestion state predicted by the proposed Conv–BiLSTM module has a higher prediction accuracy compared with the conventional and state-of-the-art methods and is an efficient method of traffic congestion prediction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Calibrating microscopic traffic simulators using machine learning and particle swarm optimization

TL;DR: The ML+PSO methodology for calibrating microscopic traffic simulator parameters to improve computational efficiency is proposed and it is found that artificial neural networks yield the best prediction accuracy.
